How we assess baby monitors
Many sites claim to have “tested” every product they cover. On a catalog of ten references that would be hard to believe, and it is not what we do. Here, simply, is how the pages of this site are built.
What we do
We gather the sellers’ information. The features of each Boifun baby monitor come from the product pages published on Amazon: screen, resolution, connection type, number of cameras, camera movement, monitor battery, zoom. The snapshot is dated, and the values are presented as “listed”.
We apply the same spec sheet to every model. Eight identical fields, from the entry-level reference to the most recent. That is what lets you compare two models without comparing two sales pitches.
We date the prices. A baby monitor’s price moves with promotions. Each price quoted is the one recorded on amazon.com at a date given on the page, and it may have moved since. Models with no amazon.com price recorded on that date show none.
We centralize the data. The figures live in a single catalog, read by the pages and the comparisons: one page cannot contradict another.
What we do not do
No physical trial, no invented score
We do not claim to have used these devices, measured their range, compared their image or timed their battery. When a page describes a strong point, it is the one the seller lists.
We do not fill the gaps. If a value is not disclosed, the cell shows “Not disclosed”. If two pages from the same seller contradict each other, we do not choose: the cell stays empty. That is the case, for example, for the resolution of the two-camera model in the 5-inch range without WiFi, listed differently depending on the Amazon store consulted.
We promise nothing on safety. Monitoring features, such as temperature detection or alerts on the child’s position, are cited as the seller’s arguments. A baby monitor never replaces an adult being present.
Why this method is still worth something
The Boifun range is hard to read: close references (VB616, VB805, Baby 6T, 2TM, 4TM), two-camera variants, and different connections depending on the model. Our contribution is to make these differences readable side by side, to say what is sourced and what is not, and to point you to the right type of device for your situation.
To choose, the guide on how to choose a baby monitor asks the useful questions before you compare references.
Our independence
This site is not Boifun’s official site. It sends you to Amazon to buy, as the legal notice explains. That changes neither the data shown nor the limits we set ourselves here.
→ Our rating system, or rather the absence of one
What this method lets us say about the brand itself is summarised in our Boifun reviews page.
Frequently asked questions
Do you handle the baby monitors?
No. This site carries out no physical trial. It compares the information published by sellers on Amazon, gathered and dated. Every value is presented as listed, never as measured.
Why is there no score out of 10?
A numerical score suggests a measurement. With no device in hand, we cannot justify one: we prefer an identical spec sheet for all models and honest “Not disclosed” cells.
How is an error corrected?
Features and prices live in a single catalog, read by the pages and the comparisons. A correction made there carries over everywhere at the same time.
