Boifun Babyphones

Our rating system

A comparison site with no device in hand has no business producing a score out of 10. It is better to say so clearly than to pass an opinion off as a measurement. This page explains what we publish instead.

No score, and why

A score like 8.5/10 sums up trials: image, range, sturdiness, ease of use. We do not run them, so we do not sum them up. The pages of Boifun baby monitors show no gauge and no numerical verdict, and no ranking rests on a trial.

What stands in for a grid

The comparison relies on a spec sheet that is identical for every model. It has eight fields.

Model number
The maker’s code, as it appears on the seller’s page
Screen
Type and size of the monitor, as listed
Resolution
Image definition as listed (720p, 2K, 4 MP…)
Connection
Direct link without WiFi, WiFi with an app, or both
Number of cameras
One or two, depending on the variant
Camera movement
Manual, remote or automatic tracking, when disclosed
Monitor battery
Capacity and battery life as listed, when disclosed
Zoom
Digital zoom as listed, when disclosed

The three labels you will see

Listed: the information comes from the seller and has not been verified by a trial. A battery life of 11 hours “in VOX mode” is a commercial claim, not a figure measured here.

Not disclosed: the seller does not give the value. We leave it empty rather than estimate it.

Contradictory: two pages from the same seller give different values. We do not choose, the cell stays empty and the page says so.

Prices

The prices quoted are Amazon snapshots, dated. They help place a model in the range and are never a quality criterion: a more expensive model is not presented as better.

Why not a house score anyway?

We could weight screen, battery life and price, and draw a score from them. The result would look objective and would not be: the weightings would be the site’s choices, and the values, sellers’ claims. Worse, a score would give the impression that a more expensive or more recent model is better, when the right device depends on your home and your habits. We prefer to show you the values side by side and let you weigh them for your situation.

The limits of this choice

Without a score, a hurried reader has no one-number answer. That is an accepted drawback. In exchange, each piece of information shown can be tied to a dated source, and each gap is visible instead of hidden by an average.

Deciding all the same

Without a score, how do you choose? Start from your situation: one bedroom or two, whether you need to watch from a phone, a larger screen. The guide on how to choose a baby monitor goes through these questions in order, and the page on our method details the rest of the approach.

The same principle applies to the brand: the Boifun reviews page separates what is documented from what is not.

Frequently asked questions

Why does no page show a score?

Because a numerical score suggests a device was measured. This site carries out no physical trial: it therefore publishes no score and no ranking that it could not justify.

What replaces the score?

A spec sheet of eight fields, identical for every model, and explicit labels: listed by the seller, not disclosed, or contradictory between two pages.

Does price influence the order of the models?

No order of merit is shown. Prices are given as a reference, dated to the snapshot, and the models are presented by family of needs.
